How to Use Data Connectors

Getting Started

Hard Drive Data Connectors

Our CSV and Excel connectors allow you to import datasets formatted as comma-separated values or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The data fields need to be in the first row as column titles.

Public Data Connectors

Stratifyd has over 80+ data connectors, many of which are programmed through public APIs. Public data connectors do not require any specific, third party login credentials.

To access public and third-party data connectors, you need to click the import data button in the data manager on your dashboard, then select New Data.

Using a Public Data Connector

Stratifyd will retrieve all the review text, usernames, star ratings, version numbers, and review posting dates from mobile app reviews on the Apple App Store for the App URL supplied.

  1. Supply the URL of the iOS App you wish to analyze reviews for. For example, the URL for the current #1 downloaded app, a cryptocurrency exchange app called “Coinbase”, reads as follows:
  2. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/coinbase-buy-bitcoin-more/id886427730?mt=8

  3. Flip the schedule your analysis (hyperlink the corresponding Getting Started Guide) switch if you want to schedule your analysis.
  4. Enter a start and end date range. Stratifyd will only pull reviews posted between these two dates. For example, if you wanted to analyze Coinbase reviews starting from their inception date of July 2, 2011 to July 2, 2017, you would enter as follows:

  6. Give your dataset a unique name. You may want to re-use this dataset and update it in the future; therefore, it is recommended to label your datasets to be search friendly. In this example, we named the dataset “Coinbase iOS”:
  7. Select the advanced options you wish to apply to your dataset. None of them are required for processing. For more information on how to use these advanced options, click here.
  8. Click Add To Dashboard, then click the Apply Changes in the dashboard’s data manager to begin processing the dataset or click the import data button to add another dataset to process in a batch with this dataset.

Third Party Data Connectors

A third-party data connector requires additional verification before it can retrieve your data. For example, Twitter’s API uses Oauth authentication, which requires a Twitter account username and password. Other third-party connectors – such as Qualtrics, Bazaarvoice, and LiveChat – request API keys from the user to satisfy their authorization requirements. Logins and keys are designed to protect your data from others on third-party platforms. If your company uses any third-party services, it should have a unique API key or login obtained from the third-party’s developer portal.

Using Third-Party Data Connectors

Our LiveChat data connector pulls your messages, chat, and visitor data for analysis. It requires a unique API key to access your privately hosted chat data.

  1. Login with your LiveChat Username and API Key.

  3. Flip the schedule your analysis (hyperlink the corresponding Getting Started Guide) switch if you want to schedule your analysis.
  4. Enter a start and end date range. Stratifyd will only pull chat data created between these two dates.
  5. Give your dataset a unique name.
  6. Select the advanced options you wish to apply to your dataset. None of them are required for processing. For more information on how to use these advanced options, click here.
  7. Click Add To Dashboard, then click the Apply Changes in the dashboard’s data manager to begin processing the dataset or click the import data button to add another dataset to process in a batch with this dataset.
