Stratifyd is growing so quickly that we've hired 20 new employees in 2019 alone, and that pace is likely to remain steady for the next few months.
Every member of the Stratifyd team is integral to our success and has an interesting story to tell, so we're going to be introducing them to you over the next few weeks. This week: Laura Hunt.
Laura Hunt is a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Stratifyd. Hunt grew up in Springfield, IL, and graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Health Science. Having spent her whole life in the Midwest, she decided to apply for internships in cities on the East Coast to explore other parts of the country.
“It was hard leaving my family, but I wanted to see what life was like in a different state,” Hunt said.
Hunt learned about the company by stumbling across an application for a sales internship position on our LinkedIn page. She joined Stratifyd as an intern in August 2017 and was offered a full-time SDR role four months later.
"When I originally applied, Stratifyd only had about 25 employees and a much smaller client list," Hunt said. "But it sounded like there was a lot of room for growth within the company and I could tell Stratifyd was going to be successful. Immediately after my interview, I knew I wanted to be a part of the team."
As an SDR, Hunt’s primary role is to be the first point of contact for potential new customers. Her focus is to establish that initial connection with a customer and spark their interest in the platform. Hunt is currently working on implementing a new, personalized outreach method for potential new customers called Vidyard.
"Vidyard is a platform where businesses can upload video messages tailored for each potential customer," Hunt said. "It's our way of standing out from the crowd, and an effective way of making a lasting impression on the customer."
Hunt believes that the SDR role plays several important parts in Stratifyd’s growth. Not only does it introduce Stratifyd to new customers, but it also helps to improve the functionality of the platform.
“Cold outreach does a lot more than just increasing the company’s revenue,” Hunt said. “It promotes continuous growth by allowing us to find more use cases for the platform and discover different ways businesses can benefit from our software.”
Hunt’s favorite part about working for Stratifyd is the company’s emphasis on personal growth.
“Our Director [of North American Sales] cares so much about each of us and where we want to end up after the SDR role,” Hunt said. “Everyone has an idea of where they want to go, and Jeremy [Spring] pushes us to work towards our goals while still helping us become better SDRs.”
After the SDR role, Hunt’s goal is to become a Customer Success Manager. This role will allow her to travel more and be hands-on with both new and existing customers.
“I want to go onsite to assist our clients with their onboarding process,” Hunt said. “I now truly understand the capabilities of our platform and want to help others see the many ways Stratifyd can improve different aspects of their customer analytics and overall experience.”
When she’s not working, you can find Hunt playing outside with her 3-year-old dog, Cooper, or taking a workout class at her local YMCA.
Hunt has not had the opportunity to travel much on the East Coast and said the first city on her bucket list is Charleston, SC.
