Stratifyd’s VP of Global Solutions, LeMonte Gregory has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tech, as he’s touched almost every aspect of the industry, making him a powerful asset to Stratifyd. However, he’s more than just a technology expert.
Gregory was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT, and spent his childhood outdoors: camping, hiking, and fishing, but also took his studies seriously. During high school, he planned to acquire his law degree, as he was extremely active in debate club and even competed in several national competitions.
“One day, my dad sat me down and asked why I wanted to be a lawyer,” Gregory said. “I said, ‘because they make good money.’ He set me straight and told me if I wanted to make good money, I needed go into IT.”
Soon after, his father purchased the family’s first home computer. They built it together and Gregory learned how to troubleshoot any problems the computer faced. As time progressed, he kept up with the different tech advancements, and eventually got into computer networking.
However, instead of going to college or joining the workforce after high school, Gregory spent eight years in the Army. As a Staff Sargent, he led a platoon of combat engineers, but never saw combat during his service.
“The first round of ground strikes for Desert Storm occurred right as I graduated from basic training,” Gregory said. “It ended so quickly that my unit never left.”
He quickly transitioned to civilian life by taking his previous knowledge of IT and computer science to start his own IT company, all while going to school for his associate degree. His company worked with small and medium sized businesses to set up their home networking prior to a time of wireless systems.
Eventually, Gregory got tired of growing his business but continued his career in technology. He worked for his first startup in 1996, where he set up high-speed internet in hotel rooms. After helping the company grow from 15 employees to more than 200 employees in 13 countries, he moved to Denver, CO, where he worked for companies like Cendant and CA technologies. After spending a decade at CA Technologies, he stumbled upon Stratifyd.
As the VP of Global Solutions, Gregory and his team are responsible for the technical aspects of the sales process. They support the account executives and the sales team by creating demo videos and pilots for the Stratifyd platform. Once contracts are signed and the onboarding process is complete, his team works alongside the customer success team to ensure that the platform meets the business needs for customers. While Gregory still lives in Denver, he visits the office at least once a month to check in with his team.
Gregory's love for the outdoors is just as strong as when he was a kid. When he’s not working or traveling, you can find him hiking, adventure motorcycling, or volunteering for his son’s high school band.
